We have a key leadership opening, Sales Manager; and invite you to apply for this critical role in Detroit location.

Major Responsibilities:

Sales manager to military ground vehicles market. May supervise one or more Account Managers. Identifies new opportunities and aligns LORD core competencies with opportunities. Coordinates and communicates among the functional areas to maximize profitable growth and new sales. Works with the technology, business, and manufacturing teams of LORD during all stages of the ?Advancing Ideas to Market? (AIM) process. The candidate is responsible to continually improve product knowledge, manage market intelligence while assessing the ground vehicles market for application of new and existing Lord products. The incumbent will need to excel in identifying unmet customer needs while winning new business. Preparation of annual operating budgets and coordination of activities against established goals will be expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor?s degree in engineering, business, or related field with 8-10 years sales and marketing experience in military / tactical ground vehicle market. Must have a very good knowledge of best practices along with leadership skills and be able to demonstrate decision making and risk taking. This position will interface with a wide variety of cultures and customers. . Good interpersonal skills are required. A verifiable record of achieving orders, innovation, and business development along with experience as a negotiator with OEMS and/or the US Government. The incumbent should have experience authoring complex proposals, evidence of the ability to learn relevant/adjacent technologies. Establish relationships and knowledge of TACOM, TARDEC, and defense vehicle OEMs. Understanding and working knowledge of US Government acquisition process and related regulations. Working knowledge/understanding of military vehicle mobility requirements, suspension design, and/or vehicle design and development process in general. This position requires up to 60% travel, including limited international travel. Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Power Point, Excel and Word. A valid driver?s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA. Government contract management experience. Former US Army, USMC active duty service as officer, DOD Civilian, or related US Government military ground vehicle experience. Experience with commercial and military aerospace as well as US Government ITAR regulations and licensing is desired
