The purpose of this job is to manage the development and implementation of Trustmark’s corporate advertising strategy, including all components of research, development and execution.


  • Implements and manages the company’s advertising strategy, including regional and corporate market development strategies, from a business, sales and technical perspective; includes day-to-day management of advertising agency relationship
  • Responsible for managing and placement of all advertisements and ensuring all advertising efforts work toward the organization’s overall goals and objectives
  • Develop integrated and effective advertising campaigns from inception to execution; drive successful integration of campaigns across all advertising channels and ensure message is effectively executed for that particular channel
  • Plans and develops all aspects of Trustmark’s policies and initiatives regarding its advertising strategy, including budgeting and expense management
  • Manage legal and product review process for all advertising creative while ensuring creative is clear, transparent and meaningful to consumers
  • Utilize research to understand consumer insights for brief development and learn from advertising research as a way to consistently enhance campaigns
  • Initiates and manages discussions and advertising agreements with outside agencies; negotiates agreements with outside sales representatives


  • Extensive knowledge of advertising industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing principles such as brand positioning, identifying consumer insights, identifying compelling benefits and features to use in marketing and advertising
  • Must understand the tactical components of media buying and planning and be knowledgeable of all forms of media (print, broadcast and digital/online)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive can-do attitude with high-energy
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Advanced working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing and adobe product suite
  • Thorough understanding of graphic design, pre-press and printing processes
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
  • Strong ability to project-manage, problem solve and multi-task
  • Proven ability to lead creative process and direct the advertising team (internal and external)
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and build partnerships, strong influencing skills
  • Passionate about advertising and marketing and curious about new developments in the industry
  • Strong ability to drive development of creative across all channels including strong experience with digital preferred
  • Superior time-management skills and a high degree of organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Marketing or related field
  • 7 to 10 years of job-related experience in advertising/marketing, some experience with finance brands preferred
  • Must have hands-on experience managing advertising/marketing campaigns, including agency partnership, creative development, managing advertisements reviews/approval and campaign execution
